Brighouse And Co-op In Concert

On Saturday, 24 th October, 2009, The Co-operative Funeralcare Band will travel south to England to give a massed band concert with the Brighouse & Rastrick Band in Huddersfield Town Hall.

The concert is the latest in a long line of Spring & Autumn concerts arranged by the Yorkshire band since 1945 and on this occasion the concert will be presented under the title “Salute To Heroes”. The guest conductor will be Lieutenant Colonel Chris Davis of the Royal Marines.

An exciting programme is in prospect and among the items to be performed will be Suppe’s overture “Light Cavalry”, Saint-Saens’ “French Military March” and the march from Respighi’s “Pines of Rome”. A soloist from each of the bands will also be featured.
