Death of MacTaggart Scott stalwart

Bandsmen and women have paid tribute to Robin Henderson.

THE death has been announced of MacTaggart Scott Loanhead Band stalwart, Robin Henderson.

A former player, secretary and chairman with the band, Robin passed away peacefully after a brave and long battle with illness.

A spokesman for MacTaggart Scott Loanhead Band said: "It is with great sadness that MacTaggart Scott Loanhead Band and Loanhead Brass Roots have to announce the passing of a true gentleman.

"Robin was a player, secretary, and chairman for more the 30 years with Mactaggarts Band and, more importantly, a friend to many bandsmen and women across the country.

"His vision, along with the other founders of Loanhead Brass Roots, kickstarted and revitalised youth banding in Midlothian, and for that alone we are eternally grateful.

"He will be sorely missed by many. Our thoughts and condolences go to his wife Anne and their family at this time.”
