Coalburn set for Moncreiff musical extravaganza

Coalburn Silver Band will be joined by the bronze and intermediate bands.

COALBURN Silver Band is preparing to perform in concert ahead of its appearance at the Scottish Championships.

Under the baton of Musical Director Gareth Bowman, the band will play in Moncreiff Parish Church, Maxwellton Road, Calderwood, East Kilbride, on Saturday, March 5.

The evening, which will also feature the intermediate and bronze bands, will see Coalburn Silver perform a programme including The Mermaid of Zennor, its set work for the forthcoming contest in Perth.

Alan Court, Coalburn Band president, said: "We are absolutely delighted to be returning to Moncreiff for what promises to be a fabulous night of music making.

"The support from the people of East Kilbride was overwhelming last year and we look forward to a wonderful concert."

Doors open at 7pm, with the concert starting at 7.30pm. Admission is £6.
