Whitburn to host Scottish preview night

Reigning Scottish champion, Whitburn band, will be among those to feature at the open rehearsal.

BRASS band aficionados will have the opportunity to whet their musical appetites as bands gather in Whitburn ahead of the 2016 Scottish Championships.

The open rehearsal on Friday, March 11, will feature Whitburn Band performing Cambridge Variations by Philip Sparke while Bo'ness and Carriden will showcase Essay, by Edward Gregson. Philip Harper's The Mermaid of Zennor will be given a run-out by Broxburn and Livingston Band and Whitburn Heartlands Band will play the set work in the third section, A Cambrian Suite by Michael Ball.

Entry is free to the event, which gets underway in Brucefield Church, Whitburn, at 7.30pm. More information is available by emailing Whitburn Band.
