FOURTH section bands preparing for the Scottish Championships have been made aware of an issue with different editions of the set work at the 2016 Regional Championships.
A statement from Kapitol Music Promotions' music selection panel confirmed that two versions of the piece had gone into circulation.
The statement reads: "Some bands may be aware that two versions of this work may have got into circulation. The one selected for the Regional Contests of 2016 is the version in which the Glockenspiel part has been simplified and is marked: ’Percussion 1 revised 2015’ on the inside of the front fly-leaf.
"In order to alleviate any problems to bands at this late stage, bands are advised to play whichever parts they do have.
"All adjudicators will be advised that they may hear either version and will be instructed not to mark any band on the basis of which version is performed.
