Tartan Brass in Whit Friday plea

Brass players are being invited to take part in Tartan Brass.

CORNET and bass players are being invited to join the ranks of a Scottish scratch band as it prepares to descend on the Whit Friday Marches.

The rallying cry came as Tartan Brass organisers look to fill the remaining spaces ahead of the famous weekend of events across Yorkshire and Lancashire. Those taking part leave Glasgow on the evening of Thursday, May 19, returning on Saturday, May 21.

Dawn Spence, organiser, said: “Tartan Brass welcomes all players of all abilities and is a great way to mingle with fellow brass banders. It gives people the opportunity to represent Scotland at the Whit Friday Marches, which is a wonderful event.

“We love to see new faces, and returning faces too, so look forward to welcoming people to the 2016 Tartan Brass experience.”
