Dunaskin Doon in conductor search

THE Dunaskin Doon Band is seeking to appoint a new Musical Director.

Based in Ayr, the band has qualified for the National Brass band Championships of Great Britain following its second place at the 2016 Scottish Championships. Dunaskin Doon's diary includes a balance of local engagements, concerts and competitions.

A spokeswoman for Dunaskin Doon Band said: "The band is a committed, ambitious and hard-working group of players that meet on Monday and Thursday nights in Ayr. We enjoy excellent attendance at rehearsals and the MD is assured the backing of a supportive committee.

"We seek a dynamic and engaging individual who will continue to progress the band as we prepare for the Nationals and look ahead to a move into the first section next year."
