Borders open for entries

The Borders College campus in Galashiels will play host to the 2016 Borders Entertainment Contest.
ENTRIES are open ahead of the 2016 Borders Entertainment Contest – and bands are being advised to get in early.
The Scottish Borders Brass Band Association is inviting bands from sections one to four to the event at the Scottish Borders Campus, Galashiels, on Saturday, November 5.
Michael Fowles and Mareika Gray will adjudicate at the contest, which will see bands performing 15 minute programmes including a piece of original music written for a musical.
Entry costs £60 and will be capped at 20 bands so bands are encouraged to submit their entries as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
A draw will take place 21 days before the contest and requests for an early or late draw can be made on the entry form.
The prize fund will be intimated in due course.
