Adjudicators unveiled for 2016 Scottish Festival of Brass

THE Scottish Brass Band Association (SBBA) has announced the adjudicating team for the 2016 Scottish Festival of Brass.

Yamaha Artist Russell Gray and tenor horn star Sandy Smith will judge at the Scottish Open and Scottish Youth Championships on November 26. Raymond Tennant, Alastair Orr and Alasdair Rankin make up the rest of the adjudcating team at the Scottish Youth Brass Band Championships, which take place on November 26 and 27 in Perth Concert Hall.

Alan Fernie and Brendan Wheeler will judge the Band Supplies Scottish Challenge in Kilmarnock's Grand Hall on November 19.

Carrie Boax, SBBA president, said: "Wonderful weekends of music making await in Perth and Kilmarnock, where brass and percussion players of all ages will take centre stage.

"From entertainment programmes to own choice test pieces, audience members will be treated to fantastic weekends of performances by terrific bands and I look forward to welcoming everyone in November."

The Band Supplies Scottish Challenge gets underway at 9.30am on November 19 with the Scottish Youth Championships beginning at 9am on November 26 and 27 and the Scottish Open starting at 1.30pm on November 26.

Those attending the festival can also look forward to children's entertainment, workshops and education sessions.
