History

The Bathgate Band can trace its routes back to the early part of the 19th century. The band is the oldest musical organisation in West Lothian and is thought to be one of the oldest brass bands in Scotland.

The Bathgate Band is primarily a community based brass band and it takes great pride in attending many civic and community events in Bathgate and throughout West Lothian.

Its notable contest successes include winning the second section National Championship of Great Britain in 1989 and 1997, along with the first section at the Pontin's contest in 1998 and the National Mineworkers contest in 2001.
