West of Scotland Open Band Contest.

Bands are invited to take part in the above contest, which will be run in accordance with the rules of the Scottish Brass Band Association.
The entry fee will be £100, which will include thirty admission tickets.
The music to be played shall be an own choice concert programme comprising a minimum of three items not exceeding fifteen minutes playing time, to include music with a link to the works of Robert Burns.

First Prize. The William Beardmore Shield and £250
Second Prize The Peter Grant Memorial Cup and £100
Third Prize The Clydebank Centennial Cup and £75
Fourth Prize The Mayers and Harrison Cup
Best Championship Band The Renfrew 600 Cup and £50
Best First Section Band The Glangarrell Cup and £50
Best Second Section Band The John Gillespie Cup and £50
Best Third Section Band The John Auld Shield and £50
Best Fourth Section Band The Strathclyde Cup and £50
Conductor of winning Band
Trophies for the Best Solo Cornet and Best Bass Section.
