Child protection update during COVID-19

In the current Coronavirus emergency, SBBA has been advised by Volunteer Scotland and Disclosure Scotland that they will be prioritising applications with regards to key workers and those assisting with the frontline against COVID-19.

“To this end, we will not be processing or accepting PVG applications at this time,” SBBA child protection officer Caroline Farren explained. “Please bear in mind that child protection is still – and in fact more than ever – a high priority and, from a SBBA perspective, something we should all continually be monitoring.

“Given the fact that we could all be using online resources such as Zoom, Skype etc, please make sure you have parental permission before publishing any images or videos and take care around using personal information such as names.”
