Advent Calendar of Carols: Johnstone Band – Swingin’ Jingle

This year's holiday season might look different because of the COVID-19 pandemic but that hasn't stopped members of Johnstone Band preparing to bring some festive cheer to audiences far and wide.

Local restrictions mean that the band can’t get together in person and it’s going to miss taking part in festive concerts and being out and about carol playing this Christmas.

Instead members have been recording individual videos and have created a Mini Festive Concert of carols and Christmas tunes, released in the band’s YouTube channel on Tuesday.

June Deans, chairperson of Johnstone Band, said: “This year has been different for everyone and we have been disappointed that we couldn't perform to our audiences across Renfrewshire. We can't wait until we can perform together in person.”

The concert has been made with assistance from Renfrewshire Council Johnstone & Linwood Local Partnership. The festive season is usually a crucial fundraising time for the band, so any donations will be gratefully received at http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/fund/BrassBandChristmas2020
