Advent Calendar of Carols: Bon-Accord Silver Band – Jingle Bells

This time of year is usually the busiest for the two bands within the Bon-Accord Silver Band organisation, with players carrying out dozens of engagements across the local community, as well as raising funds for various charities.

Pandemic restrictions may have put paid to live performances for this year, but the band has put together two specially compèred online Christmas shows which are being broadcast today.

The concerts are made up of highlights from Christmases past, with a few seasonal sing-along numbers for good measure. There is festive fun for all ages with a half-hour children’s concert going live at 11am, and the main concert beginning at 7pm.

Both events are being premiered on the band’s YouTube channel. Although free to view, there is a link to an online donation page in lieu of ticket prices for those who feel able. As the band is unable to carry out their usual charity fundraising this year, donations are being shared with local kids’ charities Charlie House and Hamish Dear’s Warm Hugs.
