Fife festival takes on virtual reality for next year
Saturday 19 December 2020The 2021 Fife Brass Band Festival is to be a virtual affair. It will take the form of an open online contest, open to all contesting bands, to be broadcast on the SBBA YouTube channel on Saturday 24 April.
There is no entry fee to this event and, although there will be no registration, it is anticipated participating bands will use guest players only if necessary.
Each band should submit a video not exceeding 10 minutes to contain an own choice programme and any compere-type announcements. It is stressed that a march should be included in the programme.
When making the videos, adherence to any current COVID restrictions and social distancing is strongly advised.
Entries will be broadcast in alphabetical order and will be assessed by an adjudicator who will award a prize for the best performance and also one for the most entertaining band.
All bands entering will be required to complete a parental consent form for players under 18 years of age to comply with SBBA’s child protection guidelines. This form should be sent on receipt of entry.
Entry forms for the Fife Brass Band Festival should be returned to Anne McInnes at anneanddonald@msn.com by 1 March 2021.
Video entries should be sent to fifebbf@gmail.com by 5 April 2021. See submission requirements here.
