Second videos now available for online digital workshop
Wednesday 5 May 2021The second set of videos in SBBA's online digital workshop series is now available. The project has been devised, through funding from Creative Scotland, for those youth and senior bands who are looking to overcome the barriers associated with the technical difficulties of producing a virtual performance.
“The videos will be of special interest to those bands who have been deterred from trying to create a virtual performance because of their lack of skills and experience in producing an online musical performance and their perceived fear of using the appropriate technology," explained SBBA education officer John Boax.
The sessions on the SBBA YouTube channel are being hosted by two tutors who are experienced in delivering virtual band performances: Iona Crosby and Keven Anderson.
The first videos from music teacher Iona were published last month and can be seen at https://youtu.be/ZpIKoTUBj5Q and https://youtu.be/abQM_TzIX9k These are ideal if you wish to learn more about creating a click track and using GarageBand to mix and master the audio. Then Iona shows you how Final Cut Pro enables you to edit the videos into the final polished product.
Keven’s tutorial has just been released: Video 1 at https://youtu.be/8cUepcp4OZQ is about using free software to get your band on the virtual ladder. Video 2 at https://youtu.be/XERTCRM9KwA is for the more advanced user.
“This exciting project is ideal for any band looking to get on board the digital experience or for someone who can pass on the knowledge gained as a workshop deliverer,” John Boax added.
