Final preparations for end-of-course concert in Strathallan School theatre
Wednesday 13 April 2022Day 3 of the four-day National Youth Brass Band of Scotland (NYBBS) Easter course at Strathallan School in Perthshire has seen the 65 Reserve and Senior players putting the finishing touches to their concert programme for tomorrow which will also include their 20-minute set for the European Youth Brass Band Competition on Saturday 30 April.
The concert – which will be broadcast live on the SBBA YouTube channel from 2.30pm – will be conducted by Senior musical director Ian Porthouse and Reserve conductor John Boax.
Throughout the week the two MDs have been supported by Alan Fernie in taking the young players in sectional rehearsals and offering personal tuition.
Entry to tomorrow’s concert in the Strathallan School theatre will be by donation through the NYBBS Just Giving page https://www.justgiving.com/campaign/NYBBS2021?invite=true with proceeds going to support the young musicians’ activities in 2022.
