Bands are ready to entertain in Saturday’s WoS contest

The scene is set, the programmes rehearsed and the bands are ready to entertain – so why not get yourself along to the Walker Halls in Troon on Saturday to hear some really top class playing?

The West of Scotland entertainment contest is being adjudicated by Alan Fernie and compered by Ralph Riddiough.

Two new trophies are to be awarded this year. The James and Mary Stewart Award will be presented to the band with the most entertaining programme and the Alex McCutcheon Memorial Quaich will go to the best bass section.

The first band takes to the stage at 9.30am to start off what will undoubtedly be a full day of fantastic musical entertainment. You won’t be disappointed!
