Opportunity to hear British Open test piece at open rehearsal

the cooperation band will be holding an open rehearsal before travelling to Birmingham to take part in the 168th British Open Brass Band Championships on Saturday (10 September).

The Co is Scotland’s only representative among 18 of the UK’s top bands in this prestigious contest and it carries the hopes and best wishes of the Scottish brass band movement.

The open rehearsal will take place on Thursday (8 September) evening at which the band will be playing the test piece, Edward Gregson’s The World Rejoicing, under the baton of musical director Glenn Van Looy.

The rehearsal will start at 7.30pm in the Clydebank Salvation Army Hall, 28 Sylvania Way South, Glasgow G81 1EA.

The British Open will take place in Birmingham’s Symphony Hall at 10.30am on Saturday. The World Rejoicing was due to be premiered in 2020, but Covid intervened. Tickets for the event are available here.
