SBBA pays tribute to HM The Queen

Following the death yesterday of HM The Queen Elizabeth II, Carrie Boax. in her capacity as president of the Scottish Brass Band Association, has added her condolences to the Royal Family.

In a statement, she says: “As SBBA president, may I offer our sincerest condolences to the Royal Family on behalf of our brass bands in Scotland, many of whom have played at events attended by Her Majesty during her 70-year reign.

“There are several individual Scottish brass band members who have met her personally during this time.

“SBBA is sincerely grateful for the Queen’s patronage of the 2004 European Brass Band Championships held in Glasgow and the support she offered as Patron of the National Brass Band Championships of Great Britain.”
