Kingdom Brass in clean sweep at Fife Charities contest

Kingdom Brass reigned supreme at Saturday’s Fife Charities contest in Dunfermline, taking the top spot in all three categories of own-choice march, hymn and test piece.

Playing the march Ravenswood, hymn tune Gresham and test piece Fraternity, the band was also awarded best conductor (Raymond Tennant), best cornet (David Prentice), best horn/flugel (Sarah Findlay) and best trombone (Alex Philip) and retained the best Fife 'A' Band title.

By taking second place in the Open Contest Granite City Brass qualifies for the Senior Trophy competition.

This 75th annual competition, the first in three years to be organised by the Fife Charities Band Association, was staged at the Queen Anne High School in Dunfermline,

Adjudicators were John Boax (for march, hymn and test piece) and Carole Ednie (for individual awards).
