Creative music workshop for young people in Aberdeenshire
Friday 17 February 2023Sound is a contemporary music charity based in Aberdeenshire which helps to facilitate composers and gives opportunities to young local musicians by running free monthly creative music workshops.
The charity’s next session on Sunday 26 February will be led by Dr John de Simone, composition lecturer at University of Aberdeen. There will be the opportunity at the end of the session to get 1-1 support with any current compositions, advice on applying for Music at university, and any other help that might be needed.
There are currently spaces available for new attendees – those in S1-S6 and of grade 3+ standard – so if you know of any pupils who may be interested, please can you pass on the following information:
Creative Ensemble (S1-S6): Creative music-making sessions for young people in Aberdeenshire and the city who want to develop their ensemble playing skills, learn new music and meet like-minded musicians.
Time: 1-4pm
1-3pm Get Creative Ensemble
3-3:15pm Get Creative Ensemble sharing
3:15-4pm Composition follow-up session with John for those who want to help with their compositions/ask questions/explore their options.

All instruments can be accommodated in the workshop, but please note there are only limited places for percussionists and pianists (offered on a first-come, first-served basis).
