Scottish Championships podium places and prize winners – part six

In the Championship Section, it was Whitburn Band that retained its Scottish champion band title, scooping most of the individual prizes at the same time. Adjudicators Sandy Smith and John Ward were in the box.

The Hugh Johnstone Memorial Trophy for best percussion went to Whitburn

Graham Fraser of Whitburn won the Angus Pearse Memorial Trophy for best bass and the James Hillis Trophy also went to Whitburn for best bass section

The John Campbell Award for best trombone went to Paul Kiernan of Whitburn

The Curly Wilson Memorial Trophy for best euphonium went to Chris Shanks of Whitburn

Carole Ednie of the cooperation band won the James MacMillan Medal for the best baritone

The Bram Thompson Medal for the best horn was awarded to Andrew McMillan of Whitburn

Stephanie Kennedy of the cooperation band took the Alex Chalmers Memorial Quaich for best flugel

The Gavin Lindsay Quaich for the best soprano was awarded to Katie Ankers of Dalmellington

Whitburn principal cornet Chris Bradley won the Terris Medal for the best cornet

Dalmellington was awarded third place

Taking the runner-up spot was the cooperation band

In first place and taking the champion band of Scotland title was Whitburn
