Scottish bands surge in European rankings following championships results

March was a particularly good month for Scottish bands, as illustrated by the latest European rankings from Brassstats.

Whitburn (cover photo) and the cooperation band both move up one point to 6th and 8th respectively following their win and runner-up placing in the Scottish Championships.

Dalmellington’s third position achievement boosted their European ranking 15 spots to 35th. Kingdom Brass moved up one place to 47th and Bon-Accord Silver two to 49th.

Further down the Top 100 table, Kirkintilloch Kelvin is up 10 places to 52nd and Unison Kinneil up five to 69th.  Other upwards movers are Kirkintilloch at 74th, Newtongrange at 82nd and Bathgate at 89th.

Biggest movers are Dalkeith & Monktonhall at 92nd (up an impressive 94 places) and Coalburn Silver at 98th (up 41 places).
