Closing date reminder for West of Scotland contest entries

Here’s a wee reminder that the closing date for entries into the West of Scotland Entertainment Contest is Saturday 29 July.

The event, which takes place in the Walker Halls, Troon, on Saturday 26 August, will be adjudicated by Phil Rosier. A NYBBS Young Ambassador will judge the entertainment value of each programme.

Bands will be required to play a 20-minute programme of music which contains at least one piece that features the lower brass (baritones down) in some way.

There will be prizes for the best band in each section, as well as for those bands in first to fourth places overall. Awards will also be made to the conductor of winning band and for best solo cornet, best bass section and most entertaining programme.
