St. Ronan’s on the look-out for new MD

Another conductor vacancy has arisen – this time it is St. Ronan’s Silver Band which is on the look-out for a new musical director. The current MD, David McLeod, has taken the decision to stand down from leading the Innerleithen-based band.

“The band has greatly enjoyed working with Dave over the last year, but he is now looking to have more time to focus on his playing commitments,” explained secretary Keith Bellville.

St. Ronan’s is a friendly, progressive band with a strong youth development programme.  The band will be competing in the Third Section from January and has a good mix of concerts, contests and a variety of other interesting engagements.  

“A conductor is sought to lead the senior band in an inspirational and positive way to help take the band forward on the next stage of its journey,” Keith added.
