Learning Festival features five workshops

The Learning Festival which followed the official business of the AGM featured five workshops:

• Stephanie Kennedy, flugel soloist with the cooperation band, talked about performance techniques

• Helen Douthwaite-Teasdale of Brass Repair Lass offered handy hints and tips on brass instrument maintenance and repair

• Percussion tutor Sarah Naish of SN Percussion talked about all things percussion

• Musical director Stuart Black spoke about the art of conducting

• Of particular interest to Fourth Section bands, composer Alan Fernie talked through his 2024 regional qualifying test piece Music for Jock Tamson in conjunction with performance provided by the cooperation band
