Saturday is a significant day for Scottish soloists

Saturday is a big day in the diaries of young brass instrumentalists as qualifying contests for the Scottish Solo and Ensemble Championship finals take place in three banding areas.

The events are the Northern Counties contest in the Panbride Hall, Carnoustie, the West of Scotland competition in the Bellshill Salvation Army Hall, and the Borders qualifier in Teviot Church, Hawick.

So get yourselves along to support your local soloists and cheer them on to the finals which take place on Saturday 23 March at the Bellshill Salvation Army Hall.
