SBBA appointed as Trinity College London Exam Centre

Friday 4 October 2024

The Scottish Brass Band Association is pleased to announce its new status as a Trinity College London Exam Centre offering a diet of practical music grade exams scheduled for mid-January.

A piano accompanist will be available for these exams, taking place at Bellshill Salvation Army Hall, Bellshill, North Lanarkshire, and also a rehearsal prior to the exam day, although candidates may also choose to bring their own accompanist.

Eventually SBBA plans to provide additional Trinity Exam opportunities at other locations and times in the future.

Interested teachers, parents, bands and individuals are asked to complete this Google Form for more information regarding these Trinity College Exams facilitated by SBBA.

Interested parties are also invited to attend a Zoom webinar next Wednesday (9 October) at 8pm to learn more about the scheme. Please indicate your attendance on the Google form. The link along with login details will be sent to you prior to the webinar.

The session will be facilitated by SBBA project officer Gareth Bowman and education officer John Boax with contributions from JJ Wheeler, National Development Manager, Trinity College London, regarding the exam process.

JJ Wheeler commented: “Trinity College London, as a global leader in music and arts qualifications, is excited to provide a prestigious pathway for musicians associated with the Scottish Brass Band Association, ensuring that the diverse talents within the community are recognised and nurtured.”
