Sponsored events in aid of St David’s Brass hall renovations

St David’s Brass has organised two sponsored events to help to raise funds towards the continuing cost of renovating the band’s dilapidated hall (see website story dated 28 September).

This Friday (18 October) three members of the band – Stuart Dickson, Ben Keay and David Moir – are going to complete a 24-hour ‘Streamathon’ to help raise funds for the ongoing renovation of Vogrie Hall.

The players have elected to attempt to complete a full 24 hours of gaming while streaming their performance online with the aim of achieving £500 in sponsorship. They will play a number of games at the event and anyone interested in their progress will be able to keep updated by checking in on the day.

More information on their challenge is available here.

On Saturday 26 October, local student Jack Fortune will be taking part in the 25-kilometre Hallowe’en Walk in London to raise further cash for the hall renovations.

He says: “As a lifelong resident of Gorebridge, where Vogrie Hall is located, I'm really excited that the building will once again be available for use by the community.”

Jack has a target of £500. You can help him reach it by donating here.

“We are so grateful to anyone who kindly supports these efforts and contributes to our continued refurbishment of Vogrie Hall,” said St David’s Brass treasurer Deirdre Kettle.
